Self Portraits

For our Self-Portrait project we were to take three self-portraits. They were all to be in black and white, and they were all to capture a mood of some sort. We were also challenged to be as artistic as possible, and stay as far away from normal, cliche portraits that we see on personal pages etc. as possible. One had to use the rule of thirds as the base for the composition; One had to incorporate leading lines, and one had to be taken from a more extreme angle. The picture I did successful on is my leading because it captures a good mood and I like the line go straight to my shoes. The picture I should done better is my extreme angles because the trees are in the way. I think I got an A or B for my overall.

Contact Sheet

I think I did a good job on this picture. The picture that turned out the best was the Depth of Field. The favorite picture that really like is the macro because I zoom in and I like the light blends in.

Crop

Cropping is a trick that photographers do all the time, even if they don't realize it. Every time a photographer chooses to cut something out of his/her frame, before they snap the photo, that is in essence cropping. We also have learned tools on Photoshop that allow us to crop an image after we have taken it. When cropping in Photoshop it is possible to improve our composition or change it completely.

Extreme Angles

When I took this picture, I have to move to the side so i can get an angle. The best thing about this picture is that when he threw up his arms. To make this better, I should have move to the side more so I can get a good picture. I chose this picture because it is way better than my other pictures.

Macro

Macro deals with two things: Texture and Dept of Field. Means that you get a closer look at smaller objects. The backgrounds tends to get blurry. It magnifies and you see different things with your own eyes. On first picture with the two bottles, the background is blurred out. The second picture, I zoom all the way.

Leading Lines

Leading Lines is where a line leads to your main subject. For example: The Line on the side wall is leading into me. Also the big papers on the wall is another example of a leading line.

Rule of Thirds

The Rule of Thirds is easiest thing you can do. You get the picture at an angel, but you have to use focus by pressing the button half way down.
The main subject has be in the corner of the camera.
